I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about a piece of hardware, as I am about the new Apple iPhone.
Unfortunately I can’t find a video of Steve Jobs’ keynote at MacWorld, but Engadget has a great blow-by-blow blog post with tons of photos.
I just hope it doesn’t take fricken forever to get over to Europe.

They mentioned Q4 for Europe in the keynote according to the tuaw.org live keynote blog (I think).
Rather conveniently that’s near when my contract runs out… *I* hope that when it arrives we get all the same functionality, the maps, the voicemail, the push IMAP.
I mean we’re still waiting for TV shows over here Apple. Are you listening?
I’ll still get one though, providing my iPod mini’s battery lasts out the next 9 months…

I’m happy to give both your arms for this baby ;) I’m guessing it will come with a hefty price tag.

I saw a “view the keynote link” on the apple site earlier. Try that (I didn’t). They updated the main page with all the features.
I’m with you though. I can’t wait till June (from what I heard) to get one. I was ready to order today… but I guess patience is a virtue or something like that.

I’ve been waiting for this day for awhile. I kept refreshing the Engadget site every second during his keynote. I’m anxious to know when it’ll be available in Canada.

[Grumbles something about phones being tied to carriers.] Just sell us the phone and let us use it anywhere!

After hearing about Apple’s latest gadgetry, I opened Bloglines this morning to see who would be the first person to cry about the iPhone….
And Ryan, you won! :-)

A report on GMTV this morning stated that it will not be released in the UK until the end of the year, June for the US. Costing around £260.

… How will you use the phone?
I think the price is pretty good too. I wonder which networks will offer that phone over here?

Just to add the £260 was based on $500 US selling price.

I’m sure one UK carrier will offer it cheaper, but at a heftier monthly contract price.
This piece of kit is enough to win me over to the church of Jobs; I just wish I could afford the admission price (ie, my first Mac).

I think it will end up at around £300 with an 18-24 month contract - which isnt too bad when you look at other smart or high end phones. My current Nokia 8080 was £350 with an 18 month contract when it first came out.
I’m just waiting to see what development opportunities there will be for the phone. As if its opened up to allow developers to write cocoa apps for it, then there will be some very cool 3rd party apps.
