A CEO! You are a director of a very small limited company. You are not a CEO.
As an IT Contractor I am also a director of my own company. And last time I checked your accounts at companies house your figures seem significantly smaller than my one man band outfit. Do you have a chief financial officer, COO, CTO and so on reporting to you? are you mainly involved with overall strategy and leadership? Do you report to the board of directors who represent the shareholders?

Your wife and yourself are the only shareholders of a company that worth less than my car, stop pretending you run some mega-enterprise. You simply make money by mainly organizing events. And DropSend is not an amazing web app, it is simply too little too late solution in an already mature market.

Like most of your fellow readers, i'm really looking forward to this new series.

Don't mind this CEO thing, it's not that american ;-) In Germany where i live, nearly every wannabe starting a company prints "Geschäftsführer" (wich translates to "company leader") on his stationary, even if his business is a one man show...

Hey Ryan,

I've been following your antics since your first guest post at 37 signals. I've always appreciated the openness and honesty of your posts and am looking forward to insights onto the day-to-day running of Carson Systems.
Like Romain above, I'm hoping to take the plunge soon and launch a web application. Soon is taking for ever though .. :)

Keep up the good work fellah!

I can't wait either, I was hoping the blog didn't go down hill. Long time reader and to be honest, there has been very few times that I haven't been impressed with the content. Continue the good work Ryan! (Also more post's from Gill wouldn't go a miss)

Thanks for the support folks.

I know it’s a popular thing to do, but it always grates with me. Or am I being too English?

It's just the American in me. I couldn't help it ;)

I'm a big fan of yours Ryan, but is it just me that thinks that saying you're the CEO of a 5 person company is a little umm, grandiose?

Ryan,

I met you in London a while ago at a Rails workshop you organized, you appeared like a good chap and in my opinion, it's always interesting to have someone who's actually making a living out of the web, share their insight. I personally stimulates my eagerness to"join the club of web entrepeneurs", so don't let the bxxxxxs get you down and keep posting.
